Frequently Asked Questions

I currently working on “Battle of the Bass”.  It’s about a largemouth and smallmouth bass making a case for who is bigger, stronger, faster. I’m looking for a male and female name for each species.  I’m open to suggestions, so let me know on the comment page. Thanks

I thought about all the time invested in gaining knowledge of how to catch walleyes.  I spent years of chasing the holy grail of a 10 pound walleye with trial and error and astute observation of what was working and what wasn’t.  Then my life long journey of learning how to catch walleyes changed direction.  I came to realize that my true quest was not to catch more or bigger fish, but to savor the experience and thoroughly enjoy all the fun along the way. My desire to share this joy of fishing with my kids and grandkids resulted in the writing of “Walter”.

Although I won a Quill & Scroll award in high school for writing a feature story, I never thought about writing as a career.  In college I thought I would become a race car driver, sportscaster, or teacher. Upon graduating from UW with an education degree, I was unable to find a teaching job and ended up in sales and never looked back.  My affinity for the outdoors lead  to several jobs as a manufactures representative in the fishing and hunting industry along with a few years on the professional walleye circuit. I always enjoyed writing but never pursued it, until now.
